Peter Stewart

Peter StewartWith a background in business, a strength in people skills and an interest in animals, Peter is excellent at what he does. His position at Clappison's allows him to fulfill all of the above by contributing to business decisions, taking an active interest in hospitalized patients, and finally having the opportunity to help people, both clients and employees. Above all, Peter finds helping people to be the most gratifying part of his job.

Peter's current animal companions are two cats, "Samantha" and "Cleo"--both Animal Adoption rescues.

In his free time, Peter enjoys everything about Nascar racing! From watching live races to collecting memorabilia, he's into it all! He also enjoys watching other professional sports, namely football, and taking long walks on the beach near his "summer getaway."

Receptionists
Melanie

MelanieMel has loved animals since childhood and knew that her career would have to involve them somehow. With years of experience working in veterinary clinics and a formal education in "Animal Care" at Sheridan college, Mel is well prepared for her job. Not only is she prepared, Mel enjoys her daily interactions with different people and different animals. The more people and pets she meets, the better!

Mel keeps herself busy looking after her cats "Sylvester" (right) and "Peanut" (left) as well as her 2 budgies and approximately 35 African cichlids (fish--just in case you weren't sure!). In fact, Mel and her husband spend some of their free time breeding their fish. Apart from a life devoted to her animals, Mel also finds a free evening to bowl in a local bowling league.

Jena

JenaCatering to the individual needs of our clients is what Jena does best. She has an innate ability to make people feel at ease, especially when their pets must stay at the clinic. Whether you need to phone twice a day or come by for a special visit, Jena will accomodate you and your questions. With many years experience in the veterinary field, there is no question that she hasn't heard!

Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
Lyn

LynBeing a veterinary assistant as well as a receptionist allows Lyn the opportunity to do what she enjoys best--dealing with owners and their pets! Her education, a BSc and BA from the University of Guelph, and her vast array of experiences have prepared her most for her job.

Not only does Lyn have work experience to draw upon, but she also has numerous animals of her own that she is continually learning from. She shares her hobby farm with 3 dogs "Annie" "Abbey" and "Wooley", a pot-bellied pig named "Wilbur" (right), 10 cats, 2 rabbits a guinea pig and a rooster. Wanting to be a farm girl growing up was a dream that she never gave up on.

During her time away from work, Lyn enjoys camping and planning day trips with her husband, three daughters and their son.

Veterinary Assistants
Aislin

AislinAs a veterinary assistant, Aislin mainly works behind the scenes caring for your pet. She enjoys working with a variety of different animals; however, her keen interest is in exotics. (especially rodents).

Aislin's job is full of new challenges each day as well as an opportunity to learn how to best care for the animals in the hospital. She figures "the more she learns at work, the better she can care for her own pets!"

Aislin currently owns a retired standardbred harness racer "Marcelle de Kiev" as well as a rabbit, "Prince Ebeneezer" and two rats, "Daytona" and "Dakota." When she is not busy at work, she is busy training "Kiev" for local schooling shows and spending quality time with her friends!

Bonnie

BonnieBonnie has been working in the Veterinary medicine field since 1989.

A life long owner of traditional house pets - dogs, cats, she currently has 1 of each. A doberman named Roadie and a big fat cat called Xena. Although not a horse owner at this time. she still rides regularily. Bonnie says "I can't imagine my life without animals in it and hope that never changes."

In her spare time Bonnie enjoys hiking with her dog, photography and mystery novels.

Administrative Assistant
Ruth

RuthWorking in her office, consientiously typing on her computer, making up bills...all important jobs, but not as important as cuddling her cats.

Enough about cats. What makes Ruth great at her job is her friendly demeanor. It is easy to tell that she likes working with people through her smiles and laughter.

With a husband and two sons, Ruth is kept very busy; however, when she does get a moment to herself, she enjoys relaxing at home.

Kelly

Kelly joined us shortly after graduating from Ridgetown College as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Running a veterinary practice with 5 veterinarians is a logistical challenge that Kelly achieves each day with a smile.

On her days off, Kelly enjoys fishing, camping and spending time with her new horse - Flipping Gorgeous. Luckily her min pin Babs doesn't get jealous of their time apart.
